Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Branch Manager and Loan Officer to join our team. This role emphasizes exceptional member service by overseeing daily branch operations, including transaction monitoring, loan processing, member assistance and staff supervision.
Duties
- Oversee the daily operations of the office.
- Monitor branch activity, including documentation in New Member packets, number of transactions, volume, Teller/Member Advocate errors, loan volume, and new accounts.
- Process, approve and/or deny consumer loan applications, business accounts, and credit card applications. Occasionally process, approve and/or deny mortgage loan applications.
- Assist members with questions or issues about their accounts, mortgages, or loans on the phone and in person.
- Balancing the ATM weekly and checking for ATM deposits on Monday and Friday each week.
- Handles loan reversals, corrections and overall questions.
- Opens Business Accounts and CD’s
- Monitors and balances the branch’s petty cash.
- Scan and check loan-related paperwork for accuracy, filing as appropriate.
- Oversee the Tellers/Member Advocates area by supervising training, assigning work, greeting members, and helping with complex transactions and sensitive member relations problems.
- Maintain knowledge of key products within the branch and train Tellers/Member Advocates on these products to ensure high quality of service for members.
- Oversee proper availability of daily cash.
- May function as Teller/Member Advocate on an as needed basis, filling in for peak coverage or shortages.
- Submit payroll deductions, order payment books and checks, handle Social Security Asset Verifications
- Investigate Teller/Member Advocate losses and institute corrective flow of work and/or corrective disciplinary action where required.
- Ensure that the branch is in compliance with federal laws and regulations.
Experience
- Minimum experience: 3-5 years of experience in finance or a related field.
- A strong background in leadership, management, and customer service is essential.
- NMLS Certification is nice to have but not required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective client interactions.
