Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including IV infusions and inhalation therapies.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient care activities.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and hospital policies regarding medication handling.
- Perform medication inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and expiration date checks.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications.
- Utilize aseptic technique during the preparation of sterile products to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy for patients in acute care settings.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance pharmacy skills.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a pharmacy environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of IV infusion processes and acute care pharmacy operations is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and medication administration practices.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred but not required; willingness to obtain certification is essential.
