Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting patient care by assisting pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and providing excellent patient service. This position is essential in a hospital or acute care setting, where precision and adherence to aseptic techniques are paramount.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including IV infusions and inhalation therapies.
• Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient care activities.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and hospital policies regarding medication handling.
• Perform medication inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and expiration date checks.
• Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications.
• Utilize aseptic technique during the preparation of sterile products to ensure patient safety.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy for patients in acute care settings.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance pharmacy skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a pharmacy environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of IV infusion processes and acute care pharmacy operations is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in aseptic technique and medication administration practices.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred but not required; willingness to obtain certification is essential.
• Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and supporting the overall goals of the pharmacy department.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
