What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technicians position at Valley Eye Physicians & Surgeons?
Full time medical/ophthalmology technician in a busy 3 doctor ophthalmology practice in Ayer, MA.
Travel between the locations is required/as needed.
- Entering data via electronic medical record, visual field analyses, front desk cross training duties.
- Supports the ophthalmologist (eye doctor) in providing care to patients with eye and vision related ailments, including collecting patient histories and administering diagnostic tests
- Uses and maintains a variety of ophthalmic instruments, such as phoropters and tonometers, and helps perform eye procedures, including lensometry, tonometry, A-scan biometry, and pachymetry
- Helps patients with vision screening and in determining the power of their eyeglasses or contact lenses
Experience as an eye technician, ophthalmic assistant, or ophthalmic technician preferred but not required. Training and mentorship provided. Starting salary determined by work history and experience.
