Position Overview:
We are seeking a Fire Suppression Technician Assistant to join our growing team. In this role, you will work directly alongside our Lead Suppression Installer to assist in the installation, service, and maintenance of fire suppression systems on projects of all sizes throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
While we service all three states, the majority of work is located in Connecticut.
We are committed to the growth of our employees — the right candidate will be supported in obtaining their Connecticut F-4 license, Massachusetts Certificate of Competency (CC), and Rhode Island Journeyman Electrician (JE) license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation of fire suppression systems, including clean agent, CO₂, dry chemical, and kitchen hood systems.
- Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment on job sites.
- Follow project plans, blueprints, and specifications under supervision.
- Perform basic fabrication, assembly, and piping tasks as directed.
- Help maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments.
- Support testing and commissioning of installed systems.
- Service and inspect portable fire extinguishers as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the Lead Installer and Project Managers.
- Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in construction, fire protection, or mechanical trades is preferred but not required — we will train the right candidate.
- Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Reliable transportation to travel to job sites across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders or lifts as needed.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems is a plus.
