The Member Solutions Manager will play a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the member solutions team. This individual will assist in implementing strategies to recover outstanding loans and minimize delinquency while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The role focuses on driving the execution of collection processes, managing delinquent loans, and reporting on charge-off accounts and liquidation efforts. A strong emphasis is placed on providing membercentric solutions and ensuring effective recovery actions that align with the credit union's mission.
- Assist in implementing collection strategies to recover outstanding loans, minimize delinquency, and manage charge-offs.
- Monitor the progress of delinquent accounts and ensure the team takes appropriate follow-up actions.
- Collaborate with team members to align collection efforts with the credit union’s recovery goals.
- Oversee the management of delinquent loans, charge-offs, repossession activities, and real estate-owned (REO) assets.
- Regularly prepare reports, including charge-off lists, delinquency updates, and assets in liquidation, for internal and board-level review.
- Review and negotiate repayment plans, develop workout agreements, and explore alternative solutions to bring delinquent accounts up to date.
- Guide the team in offering flexible payment solutions and other alternatives to members as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with relevant collection laws and regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Bankruptcy Code, the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), and the Military Lending Act (MLA).
- Support the legal process by assisting with bankruptcy filings, foreclosure actions, and coordinating with external vendors.
- Collaborate with lending management to monitor performance metrics, align collection efforts with KPIs, and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to the collections team, ensuring adherence to best practices in day-to-day operations.
- Perform other duties assigned by lending management.
Education, Experience & Skills
- A minimum H.S. Diploma, four-year degree desired
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in collections and recovery management in a supervisory capacity within a financial institution, such as a bank or credit union
- Strong leadership and strategic collaboration experience, with a proven track record of implementing effective collection strategies
- Strong knowledge of credit union or bank collection laws and regulations, including bankruptcy, foreclosure, skip tracing, and repossession
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience in monitoring and reporting KPIs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with software collections and systems, preferably Akuvo
Pay Range & Work Schedule
- This position is a Tier 11 with a salary range of $69,542 to $83,000
- The anticipated pay rate for new hires is between the low-end and midpoint of the range, depending on experience
- The pay rates listed above are based upon the geographic location of our Administrative Offices in Modesto, CA using the greater Central Valley area for our pay range calculations
