What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician & Groundskeeper position at Valley Forge & Bolt Mfg?
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
- Maintain the aesthetic and functional aspects of the company grounds, including landscaping, lawn care, and seasonal plantings.
- Perform regular inspections of grounds and facilities to identify maintenance needs and areas for improvement.
- Utilize landscaping equipment and tools safely and effectively to complete landscaping tasks.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of company events and functions held on the grounds.
- Collaborate with the facilities team to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance on production equipment and machinery
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions
- Repair and replace defective parts, components, or systems
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and safe manner
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed and parts used

Work Environment:
-Primary work environment is the production floor.
- Secondary work environment is the office.
- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) through the entire shift.
- Ability to be aware of surroundings for safety concerns.
- While performing duties of this job the employee will be required to frequently stand on their feet for extended periods of time. Occasion stooping and walking will be required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in grounds maintenance is preferred.
- Proficient in the use of landscaping tools and equipment.
- 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
