Manage all Nursing functions on shift. Serve as a clinical resource to establish effective nursing systems for hospital-level care in addictions, pain management, and co-occurring medical conditions. Educate and mentor staff to build effective nursing skills for safety and quality care. Collaborate with all departments impacting nursing services. Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess nursing care services on all units.
- Communicate patient care information to incoming nursing shifts.
- Plan and ensure appropriate staff assignments for nursing care delivery.
- Facilitate the implementation of patient care services.
- Evaluate patient care services.
- Provide teaching for nursing staff.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve patient care.
- Complete and refer coaching forms to the Director of Nursing.
- Utilize effective communication with patients, families, nursing staff, and healthcare team members.
- Demonstrate leadership in the workplace.
- Support departmental and institutional policies and procedures.
- Participate in performance improvement activities to evaluate patient care and nursing practice.
- Promote professional standards in nursing.
- Monitor lab and pharmacy service reports.
- Administer controlled substances in compliance with federal and state laws.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Job Skills:
- Management or supervisory skills.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Knowledge of hospital policies, licensing, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Knowledge of nursing standards, practices, and equipment.
- Data design, collection, and analysis for performance improvement.
- Ability to analyze situations, mediate conflicts, and find effective solutions.
- Effective computer skills.
Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Nurse preferred. At least 2 years in management/supervisory role preferred. Current PA nursing license in good standing.
Schedule:
Night shift - 3 12-hour shifts plus every other weekend.
