What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admission Navigator position at Valley Forge Medical?
The Admission Navigator will provide supportive care and assistance to the admission staff, ensuring compliance with Valley Forge Medical Center's policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document patient vital signs, blood glucose levels, and Blood Alcohol Content (BAC).
- Administer Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) tests and Urine Drug Screens (UDS).
- Conduct 12 lead EKGs, place admission orders into EMR, and draw lab tests.
- Assist with patient wound care and maintain patient and environmental safety.
- Ensure cleanliness of admission rooms and assist nurses with patient information.
- Report significant patient changes to licensed personnel and participate in hospital committees.
- Uphold nursing department mission and values in patient care delivery.
- Engage in performance improvement activities and use effective communication skills.
- Assist in new personnel orientation and take responsibility for personal and educational growth.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; CNA, MA, or comparable certification needed.
- Preferred: Undergraduate healthcare courses, bilingual (English/Spanish), and one-year experience in addictions or mental healthcare.
Schedule:
11a-11p 3 x12 hour shifts plus every other weekend
