Promote meaningful engagement in treatment and long-term recovery by modeling, educating, advocating, and encouraging those seeking sobriety during inpatient treatment. Ensure adherence to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Peer-Based Recovery Support:
- Offer recovery support, coaching, and encouragement.
- Build rapport through relationship building and active listening.
- Assist in developing community-supported recovery plans.
Administrative Support:
- Collaborate with CRS, clinical, and medical staff.
- Document recovery progress in EMR.
- Maintain patient closet inventory.
Community Engagement:
- Participate in patient leisure events and milieu activities.
- Facilitate small group activities (goal setting, discharge planning).
Patient Escort and Assistance:
- Escort patients to internal and external appointments.
- Coordinate transportation for off-site meetings.
- Monitor and support patients during meals.
Post-Discharge and Follow-Up:
- Conduct post-discharge callbacks to track recovery progress.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Attend de-escalation calls and organize on-site activities.
- Assist during doctor’s rounds and take vital signs.
- Support smoke breaks, isolation sessions, and transportation.
- Implement the Buddy Program and document group sessions.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of addiction recovery principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in providing support to individuals in treatment.
- Ability to educate on recovery, relapse prevention, and coping strategies.
- Skill in modeling healthy behaviors and building therapeutic relationships.
- Knowledge of co-occurring mental health disorders and trauma-informed care.
- Competence in facilitating group therapy sessions.
- Adherence to hospital policies for quality assurance and safety.
Position Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: One year in addiction treatment or mental healthcare preferred.
Peer Support certification necessary.
Schedule:
7am-3:30pm, plus every other weekend.
