Under the nurse manager's direction, the Unit Coordinator provides essential administrative support for the nursing department. This role involves coordinating unit communication, managing admissions processes, and ensuring efficient information flow within the healthcare facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate unit communication via email, telephone, and electronic medical records.
Maintain current census and record all admissions, discharges, and transfers.
Initiate transfers, coordinate room changes, and discharges with relevant departments.
Ensure organization during new admission processes and maintain patient records.
Communicate pertinent information to the interdisciplinary team.
Welcome and admit patients with professionalism.
Assist in completing necessary forms during admissions.
Handle incoming calls.
Monitors call bell system and alerts nurses as indicated.
Follow up on patient arrivals and address concerns.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain accurate admission records.
Manage waitlists and contact individuals for admissions.
Provide excellent customer service.
Knowledge and Skills:
Proficient in computer use and relevant software.
Strong filing and record-keeping skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Adept knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare administration training/experience a plus.

Schedule:
2:45pm-11:15pm
4x8 hour shifts every other weekend (32 hours a week FT)
