Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Deli Associate to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of food products, including meats, cheeses, and prepared items. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of sales techniques and handling customer transactions.
Duties:
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating products in the deli department.
- Prepare and serve a variety of food products, including meats, cheeses, and prepared items.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and making recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Operate a POS and handle customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Upsell and promote products and services to customers.
- Assist with inventory management and restocking products as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Participate in sales and customer service training to improve performance and contribute to the success of the store.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a food service environment, preferably in a grocery store or deli setting.
- Proven experience in providing excellent customer service and sales techniques.
- Basic math skills to handle cash and credit transactions accurately.
- Familiarity with food industry standards and practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to help with tasks outside of the deli department as needed.
