Dosimetrist, Radiation Oncology Full Time Day
POSITION SUMMARY:
To calculate, compute and generate radiation dose distribution and computerized treatment plans of both external beam cases and brachytherapy cases under the direction of the Physicist and Radiation Oncologist.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an approved American Medical Association program in medical dosimetry (preferred) or Bachelor's degree in Physical Science, Mathematics or Physics or current State of New Jersey license as a Radiation Therapist and Valley Hospital experience in medical dosimetry.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years' experience as a dosimetrist.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Required: Certification and current membership as a Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) by the American Association of Medical Dosimetry (AAMD) preferred). Demonstrates effective interaction and communication (oral, writing, presenting) skills. Ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to details. Ability to function competently and independently in a changing work environment related to changing patient needs, including working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes. Ability to work cooperatively with the health system, patients, and multidisciplinary team members. Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to use analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively problem solve.
