Job Summary
The primary function of this role is to provide direct clinical supervision and maintain appropriate clinical standards in the emergency room nursing department. Key Responsibilities
- Direct Clinical Supervision: Provide clinical guidance and oversight to ensure adherence to established clinical standards, protocols, and policies within the emergency room nursing department.
- Nursing Staff Development: Mentor and support nursing staff to enhance their knowledge, skills, and confidence in providing high-quality patient care.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with healthcare teams, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to achieve optimal patient outcomes and improve the delivery of patient care.
- Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient, taking into account their medical history, current condition, and personal preferences.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent experience, such as a diploma in nursing.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare, preferably in an acute care setting, such as an emergency room or intensive care unit.
- Licensure: Active RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or eligibility for licensure pending completion of orientation.
- Certification: American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification and national certification by a specialty organization, such as the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) or the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), are preferred.
Physical Demands
This role requires light to heavy physical demands, including frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting, as well as visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
