Job Description
This position is accountable for oversight of patient care delivery Monday through Friday 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and 24 hours a day on weekends, and holidays. This RN makes rounds to the nursing units, collaborates with charge nurses and staff to solve clinical and staffing issues, addresses and documents practice variations and staff non-compliance to HR policies. Nursing metrics are assessed and staff coached/mentored to improve outcomes when deficits are identified. This RN also serves as a patient advocate, communicates with support departments as appropriate to resolve issues. Following the chain of command, communicates appropriate issues to AOC, Nursing Leadership, and Ancillary Departments.
Education
Graduate of an accredited nursing program BSN required, or completion within five years of hire
Experience
5 Years Healthcare required
Certification & Licensures
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required *
Based on primary state of residency and in accordance with current Virginia Board of Nursing Regulations, must be licensed or eligible to practice pending licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia with either a: Multi-state license, under the Nurse Licensure Compact OR Single-state license, valid in Virginia only. Acts as notary public by notarizing wills, power of attorney or witness of documents as needed

Excellent communication skills, positive and professional demeanor Able to work in fast pace environment, utilizing capacity management principles (real time demand and capacity) Knowledgeable in the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological stages of human growth and development Competent to provide assessment, care and treatment appropriate to the age group of patients served
