The Manager of Facilities Engineering is responsible for the maintenance and cost-effective operation of the equipment, utilities and support systems for assigned hospitals and facilities within the Valley Health System network. This includes, but is not limited to, the safe, efficient and cost-effective operations of all electro/mechanical and physical plant equipment. The focus of these duties is to support the primary functions of the organization. The Manager coordinates and integrates interdepartmental services, coordinates and monitors all services and activities within the department.
The Manager of Facilities Engineering position may be assigned to one of the following geographical regions for operational and managerial oversight:
North: Primary hospitals are located in Romney and Berkeley Springs, WV with a large outpatient clinic in Spring Mills, WV.
Central: Primary hospital located in Winchester, VA as well as various buildings associated with Winchester Medical Center and primary care/clinics in Winchester, VA.
South: Primary hospitals are located in Front Royal, Woodstock and Luray, VA.
Education
Bachelor's degree in environment engineering or mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering is preferred.
Experience
5 years of experience as an Operations - Facilities Maintenance Manager is required.
2 years of general supervisor experience is required.
Qualifications
Shall be knowledgeable of electrical, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and power plant systems.
Shall be knowledgeable of construction/project management and maintenance programs and systems.
Shall be familiar with applicable local, state and federal codes, NFPA, DNV, and OSHA regulations as related to health care and health care related facilities.
