Job Description
As a Rehab Aide, the employee supports the overall Mission and Vision of Valley Health by providing the highest quality and best-practice service to its customers. The Rehab Aide may be employed in any one of the rehab settings, and under direct supervision of a Physical or Occupational Therapist, provides support and assistance with the safe and functional rehabilitation care and treatment of the patient, which may include assistance in the set up and preparation for wound care and any associated secured items. The Rehab Aide supports the patient's rehabilitation goals and demonstrates flexibility to adjust to fluctuating patient care and therapist needs. Clinical settings may include: acute care, inpatient rehab, transitional care, and outpatient.In addition, the employee maintains a working knowledge and is supportive of departmental, hospital and organizational initiatives and updates, and stays current with communication, such as emails, in a professional and timely manner
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
CNA or equivalent training preferred
Experience
Previous hospital and/or health care experience as a volunteer preferred.
Certification & Licensures
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ˜Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required *
- New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
Qualifications
Able to communicate effectively to various age groups to include pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
