Job Description
The Electrophysiology Supervisor assists the Manager and Director with specific leadership tasks and functions within the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab. The Supervisor has oversight and responsibility for timely coordination of supplies and instrumentation, to include sales representative availability, and assists leadership and educator in staff orientation and competency for the EP staff role. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing guidance, clinical expertise, and mentoring members of the healthcare team while utilizing available resources to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Oversees and provides support to EP Lab. The role is expected to consist of 80% clinical support and 20% administrative tasks. The Supervisor engages physicians in dialogue regarding scheduling of cases, supplies and instrumentation needed, daily troubleshooting, etc. The Supervisor will participate in annual capital budget planning and attendance at New Technology Committee when products affecting their service line are presented. Oversees frontline direct reports, aid in evaluations for direct reports, and enact coaching actions as needed. The Supervisor will role-model professional leadership behaviors that serve to lead their teams by example. Other duties may be assigned as need arises.
Education
Graduate of accredited (2) year Allied Health training program is required.
Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) is preferred.
Experience
Certification & Licensure
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in VA or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or a combination of both RT(R) plus (CI) required.
A Registered Radiology Tech may be hired in this position.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved is required. * New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Able to anticipate the needs of procedures, troubleshoot and resolve issues that impede on efficiency or patient care concerns.
