Job Description
The Supervisor works closely with other members of the department. Responsibilities include: handling of patient medications at discharge; maintaining a friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients and co-workers; responsive to customer needs; providing world-class service to customers and clients; maintaining the highest levels of safety, quality and service excellence for employees, clients, consumers, shareholders, and the community; maintaining a contagious and positive work ethic, inspires others, and models the VHS values; ensures that each customer feels informed, understood, and special through genuine and positive communication; contributes ideas and feedback to the department and is able to be depended upon to meet commitments; coordinates and leads employees in Housekeeping and Linen; performs patient/customer and employee rounding; performs service recovery to patients/customers who have received unsatisfactory service; runs shifts and daily operations supports the area of Housekeeping by coordinating and/or performing such tasks as daily cleaning, discharges, burnishing, and building tour inspections; coordinating and/or performing support service activity which includes taking service calls and dispatching the appropriate personnel to handle the issues; could perform such tasks as way-finding and parking if necessary; gives input on employee evaluations as well as assisting with disciplinary counseling; gives input on interviews for new hires; adheres to all HIPAA standards and practices when dealing with protected health information; adheres to all appearance standards and maintaining a professional dress at all times while working; adheres to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment. Complies with OSHA regulations and other local, state and federal regulations; maintaining compliance with standards of operation and conduct; maintaining all records and reports to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and codes; maintaining compliance with all requirements of Federal, State, and local regulations and guidelines.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
3-5 years of progressive experience in the housekeeping industry is required
Qualifications
Ability to type is required.
Must have a strong knowledge of housekeeping processes & procedures.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have the ability to lead and direct a large group of employees.
Able to prioritize multiple requests and assignments.
