What are the responsibilities and job description for the Memory Care Nursing Assistant position at Valley Hi Nursing Home?
Heart of the Valley is a brand new, state-of-the-art memory care unit with 21 beds, designed to provide exceptional care and support to residents with memory impairments, including Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.
As a CNA team member on this unit, you will be involved with resident meals, light housekeeping and activity programming in addition to activities of daily living. CNAs on our memory care unit will be able to demonstrate patience, communication and be able to “meet them on their journey”. All CNAs will need to complete the required dementia courses prior to working on this unit.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Providing quality nursing care to residents by providing individualized attention to attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
- Being knowledgeable of the individualized care plan for residents and providing support to the resident according to their care plan.
- Contributing to the care planning process by providing the charge nurse or other care planning staff with the specific information and observations of the residents' needs and preferences.
- Attending to the individual needs of residents which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, or other needs in keeping with individuals' care requirements.
- Assisting with maintaining a safe, neat, and clean environment while supporting an atmosphere that promotes a homelike environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Illinois C.N.A. Certification in good standing
- Must have the ability to bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach
- C.P.R. certification preferred but training available at facility
