DIRECTOR OF SUPPLY CHAIN:
Our Team is growing at Valley Hope! As a result we have an opportunity for an experienced professional to join us in this newly created position of Director of Supply Chain. This position will be based out of our office in Overland Park, KS and will require regular travel throughout our 6-state continuum.
The Director will serve as the system leader for the acquisition and utilization of supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment for Valley Hope (VH). This position will report to the Senior VP of Finance / CFO. The Director will be responsible for optimizing VH's supply chain function and leading system-wide efforts to identify and implement opportunities for cost savings through product selection, standardization, and use, while supporting clinical quality goals. The Director will also be responsible for developing the product selection process including product review and evaluation; and monitoring product implementation and utilization to assure that cost savings targets are met. The Director will collaborate with VH leadership, Executive Directors and/or their designates, and will serve as the primary liaison with VH's Group Purchasing Organization(s) and key VH suppliers, including management of the related contracting processes.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in health care administration, business administration, supply chain, or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five (5) years of health care supply chain management experience, including development & implementation, product evaluation, cost-benefit analyses, financial feasibility studies and product contracting.
- Previous work experience facilitating/coordinating work teams.
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in health care administration, business administration, supply chain, or related field
- Seven (7) years of health care supply chain management experience, including development & implementation, product evaluation, cost-benefit analyses, financial feasibility studies and product contracting.

JOB SUMMARY:
- Leading all supply chain functions, including supply expense management initiatives, and achieving performance targets.
- Leads the system-wide Supply Management Committee consisting of the VH Senior VP of Finance/CFO, VH Leadership, Executive Directors/designee as relevant per initiative.
- Supervises identified team members including hiring, training, and providing performance reviews. Provides routine performance feedback, ongoing leadership, and mentoring in support of staff development.
- Develops system-wide contracting protocols for all supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
- Implements supply chain policies and procedures which will be utilized system wide.
- Develops and implements strategies and processes for reducing product/supply expenses.
- Works with Committee members to identify and prioritize product/supply standardization, utilization, substitution, and waste reduction opportunities.
- Utilizes internal and external data to identify savings opportunities, including Group Purchasing Organization’s (GPO’s) information and tools, Valley Hope purchasing data, contract data, clinical evidence, cost effective data and internal financial data sources.
- Coordinates the resolution of problems associated with product/equipment.
- Evaluates VH's supply chain function in relation to healthcare supply chain best practices and makes recommendations to optimize the system-wide supply chain structure.
- Promotes the transparency of clinical, evidential, financial, and operational data.
- Coordinates the ongoing evaluation of approved products, technologies, services, and processes to determine if the expected outcomes were obtained.
- Directs and assists with Supply Chain implementation of Initiatives.
- Acts as a resource to continuously identify Executive Directors' supply chain management initiatives.
- Responsible for expediting back-orders when necessary, verifying acceptability of substitutes with user departments and resolving back-order situations.
- Reviews special order requests for contract compliance.
- Coordinates and works with suppliers and contracting facility to ensure pricing integrity and Item Master updates are accomplished to minimize invoice discrepancies.
- Monitors VH compliance with Group Purchasing Organization contracts.
- Collaborates on projects and initiatives as requested by management to streamline processes and work more effectively.
- Implement and support purchasing software application, and drive development and maintenance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office setting, traditional hours as delegated per Supervisor.

- Able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the workday.
- Able to work additional hours to the extent necessary.
- Ability to travel 25% of time if requested by Supervisor. Travel can increase for situational circumstances.
