CNC Machinist

Here at Valley Machine Tool, Inc. , we’re searching for a full-time CNC Machinist to join our team in Morrow, Ohio. In this role, you will set up and operate manual and CNC Mills and Lathes to machine, applying knowledge of machine shop procedures, mathematics, materials, and layout techniques.

Monday – Friday6 AM – 4 : 30 PMWhat we’re looking for :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)At least 2 years of experience operating mills, lathes and other machine shop equipmentPrevious experience with programming – G-codeAbility to use machine shop measuring equipmentTypical Week in the life of a CNC Machinist :
Operates lathes, mills, and a variety of machine shop equipment in accordance with established shop policies, practices, and procedures.Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.Follows part non-conformance procedures and inspection procedures.Reports to immediate supervisor, any problems, or delays in machining parts.Handles emergency, “hot” jobs or “walk-in” work as directed.Performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment in accordance with shop and equipment manuals.Installs machine replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.Follows safety program and keeps work area clean and free of “fillings” and other work waste during the daily milling operations.Cleans machine and work area completely and the end of each day.Does this sound like the right job for you?
