Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a full-time RN Unit Manager to supervise day-to-day nursing activities for a busy Skilled unit facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

- Assist the DON / ADON in directing day-to-day nursing activities.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
- On call rotation with 3 other nurse managers.
- Ensure that reference material (i.e., PDR'S, Federal and State Regulations, etc.) maintained at the nurses' stations is current.
- Ensure that all nursing service personnel comply with the procedures set forth in the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
- Assist in coordinating nursing with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents' total regimen of care.
- Meet with the nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the department's services, programs, and activities.
- Complete accident / incident reports as necessary.
- Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.
- Develop work assignments, and / or assist in completing and performing such tasks.
- Inform nursing service personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, room assignment, etc.
- Ensure that rooms are ready for new admissions.
- Greet newly admitted residents upon admission. Escort them to their rooms as necessary.
- Make rounds with physicians as necessary.
- Provide direct nursing care as necessary.
- Ensure adequate stock of medications, supplies, equipment, etc., is maintained at all times to meet the needs of residents.
- Ensure personnel involved in providing care to the resident are aware of the resident's care plan.
