As the Director of Facilities at Valley Oaks Health, you will oversee the management and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring they meet the highest standards for safety and functionality. This role is vital in supporting our mission by providing a conducive environment for delivering exceptional mental health services.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance of all facilities, ensuring timely and effective repair and upkeep of buildings, equipment, and grounds. Collaborate with the Mainte-nance Supervisor to schedule preventive maintenance and handle repair requests, minimizing disrup-tions to clinical operations. Manage capital improvement projects, including renovations, upgrades, and new construction, coordinating with contractors and vendors as needed
- Supervise the Environmental Services Supervisor to ensure all areas are cleaned and sanitized per healthcare standards, with particular attention to infection control and patient safety. Establish and monitor cleaning protocols to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety across all sites. Evaluate and improve housekeeping workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
- Serve as the Safety Director, leading the agency’s safety program and implementing initiatives to reduce risks and ensure a safe environment. Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA, CMS, and other regulatory standards. Lead incident response and investigations, coordinating corrective actions and reporting as required to ensure ongoing safety compliance.
- Create and maintain an emergency preparedness plan to address natural disasters, fire, power outages, and other potential emergencies. Ensure regular safety drills, including fire, evacuation and lockdown drills are conducted, to prepare staff and patients for emergency situations. Maintaining emergency supplies and equipment, coordinating regular inspections and ensuring readiness.
- Manage the facilities and environmental services budget, controlling expenses and negotiating with vendors to secure cost-effective services and supplies. Collaborate with finance and operations teams to plan and allocate resources for maintenance, repair, and capital improvement projects. Track expenditures and prepare reports for leadership on facility costs, project status, and budget adherence.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized services as needed.
- Manage and oversee assigned team members, including approving timecards, scheduling, conducting performance evaluations, and providing ongoing feedback. Ensure accurate timekeeping and adherence to attendance policies, address performance issues as needed, and support employee development by setting clear goals and providing guidance aligned with organizational standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, bachelor’s degree in facility maintenance or business is preferred.
- 3 years facility maintenance required.
- Understanding of facility maintenance practices, HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and general building operations in a healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA, CMS, and other healthcare-related safety regulations, with experience implementing compliance programs and safety protocols.
