We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide direct care to patients under the supervision of nurses and medical staff in various healthcare settings.
- Duties
- Provides direct patient care to support the licensed professional nurses / Physician Assistants, physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and MAs responsible to ensure a safe environment for patients.
- Collects vital information on the patient and reports such to the nursing team which contributes to the overall assessment of each patient and any changes to a patient's condition.
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, including measuring and recording vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, etc.), and performing basic laboratory tests such as blood draws and urine tests, or point of care testing as requested by medical staff.
- Collects clinical data and information on patients, and reports changes in patient status to the medical staff.
- Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology.
- Acts as 1 : 1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
- Qualifications
- High school diploma / GED
- CNA preferred, not required.
- 1 yr. experience in healthcare setting preferred, not required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of relevant work experience
- CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification / registration must be obtainedwithin six months of employment. Exam must be from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
