EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- 12 months qualifying experience in childcare field and 6 credit hours in the childcare field or 60 documented training hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN EARLY LEARNING TEACHER:
- Supervises, implements, and directs a classroom within an early learning program.
- Provides guidance to assistant and co-teachers within the classroom and/or center.
- Complete all daily reports on children within the classroom, showing competency with assigned technology.
- Exhibit sound judgement in challenging and adverse scenarios, prioritizing child safety.
- Collaborate with peers and be effective in working in team-based environment.
- Understands and maintains ADHS state licensing rules and regulations and YMCA childcare program standards.
- Develops positive relationships and uses positive tone & communication with children and parents.
- Preserves quality condition of all supplies, equipment, materials, and cleanliness of site.
- Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures. Completes incident and accident reports, as necessary.
- Attend staff meetings and training courses as required.
- Incorporates the mission, philosophy, and 4 core values of the YMCA in all communication with participants and co-workers.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A LEAD PRESCHOOL TEACHER:
- 18 years of age or older
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and negative TB test (must possess prior to working with children)
- 12 months qualifying experience in childcare field and 6 credit hours in the childcare field or 60 documented training hours.
- Reliable transportation to commute to assigned centers.
- Able to be flexible and work with multiple teams.
- Possess mature judgment and sound decision-making.
- Ability to communicate effectively with members, peers, and supervisor.
- Must be observant, safety conscious and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency.
