What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Painter position at Valley Painters?
We are looking for an experienced individual motivated to assist us in improving and providing excellent service to the communities of Southeastern Colorado.
You will be working with various tools, at various heights, and in various spaces while observing all necessary safety measures. You must be reliable and deft, as well as possess great attention to detail in completing tasks. Your goal is to deliver high-quality painting work, and to genuinely care about providing a great experience to our customers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assisting the Crew Leader in managing the worksite
- Assisting less experienced employees with learning and implementing proper procedures
Secondary Responsibilities
- Make on-site preparations such as setting up ladders, covering/removing fixtures etc.
- Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, removing old paint etc.
- Fill cracks and holes with appropriate product (e.g. drywall, siding)
- Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
- Apply varnish and other finishes
- Adhere to all health and safety precautions
Skills
- 2-3 Years Residential Painting Experience Necessary
- Solid knowledge of painting/paint prep methods helpful
- Customer service experience
- General aptitude in using appropriate tools for the task (brushes, caulking guns, power tools, etc.)
- Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on roofs, ladders etc.
- Conscientious with great attention to detail
- MUST exhibit a positive, can-do, and caring attitude and be willing to go the extra mile

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
