Job Summary
The primary function of this role is to provide daily nursing care to residents in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as guidance from supervisors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all nursing care is provided in private settings.
- Take vital signs, dress wounds, insert catheters, and perform other essential duties.
- Listen to resident concerns and address questions.
- Accurately document resident progress notes and report any changes in condition.
- Assist and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Maintain infection control policies and report occupational exposures to supervisors.
Requirements:
- Completion of Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) training from an accredited institution.
- Valid LVN license in good standing.
- CPR and BLS certification; IV Certification a plus.
- One year of skilled nursing experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent interruptions and potential exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and hazardous chemicals.
- Ability to work beyond scheduled hours and be subject to call-back during emergencies.
- May encounter odors, dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, or air contaminants.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to move intermittently throughout the day.
- Lift up to 25 pounds; assistance required for heavier weights.
- Ability to read fine print on electronic devices and medical labels.
