What are the responsibilities and job description for the APP Medical Detox/Hospitalist Days position at Valley Physician Services?
POSITION SUMMARY :
Ridgewood Campus provides medical management and daily rounding for the Medical Detox Unit. Responsibilities include :
Perform admissions, history and physicals, and discharges to / from the Medical Detox unit.
Conduct physical exams and clinical and basic psychiatric evaluations for Medical Detox patients.
Manage communication between interdisciplinary teams, including social work and medical teams.
Lead Rapid Response and initiate ACLS for patients at the Ridgewood Campus.
Provide immediate medical care for outpatient imaging services, including but not limited to contrast reactions and anaphylaxis.
Escalate medical emergencies appropriately via 911 to the Paramus campus as needed.
EDUCATION :
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program as determined by the Committee on Allied Health, or a current Registered Professional Nurse and Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program / Masters in Nursing.
Current Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or for Advanced Practice Nurses a current Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Hold a valid, current New Jersey license.
Obtain a New Jersey CDS and federal DEA certificate upon employment if not already covered.
ACLS certification.
Critical Care experience desired.
Interest in detox and addiction medicine is a plus.
Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving.
EXPERIENCE :
Critical care or emergency department experience desired.
