At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for a Nurse Practitioner to join our team.

The Nurse Practitioner is an integrated role in providing direct care to patients who visit our Urgent Care practice. The nurse practitioner utilizes the scientific process and national standards of care as a framework for managing patient care.
Essential Functions:
- Evaluation of patients to obtain detailed and accurate patient histories, perform physical examinations, delineate chronic and current health problems.
- Order routine or specific procedures (laboratory studies, radiographs, and administration of medications) and interpret findings or outcomes.
- Propose and initiate treatment programs for patients within the urgent care setting.
- Prescribe appropriate medications to treat or relieve symptoms. Address current medications and adjust if necessary.
- Performing routine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as, but not limited to, injections, immunizations, suturing and wound/burn care, incision and drainage, foreign body removal (skin or eye), managing simple conditions produced by infection or trauma, facilitating the management of more complex illnesses and injuries.
- Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, or other areas, such as general health maintenance pertaining to the acute condition or any co-morbidities evaluated in the urgent care setting.
- Perform appropriate emergency measures as deemed necessary, e.g. cardiopulmonary resuscitation, administration of medication, and general stabilization of patients.
- Maintenance of accurate, detailed, and complete medical records.
An ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:
- APN License
- Current BLS certification
- Well-developed critical thinking skills
- Experience in physical assessments
- Good social/interpersonal skills
- A passion for treating patients & exceeding projected initiative results.
