What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operating Room Technician position at Valley Regional Hospital?

At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for an Operating Room Technician to join our team.
The primary responsibility of the Operating Room Technician is:
- Restocks operating room supplies, including sterile surgical supplies, anesthesia supplies, linen, and specimen containers between cases and at the end of day while also validating dating and outdates.
- Assists with room set-up with desired equipment as requested by nursing staff.
- Aids in the breakdown, cleaning, and turnover of cases by wet mopping the floors, wet dusting furniture, replacing used suction and anesthesia circuits, removing trash and used linen to appropriate disposal locations, making of the operating room table and refreshing linens.
- Helps transport specimens.
- Assists nursing personnel in lifting and moving patients while applying appropriate body mechanic techniques and complying with safety policies.
An ideal Candidate would have the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- High integrity, able to follow procedures
- Ability to be a self-motivated learner, to take initiative in learning the many complex processes
