POSITION SUMMARY :
PBX operators answer incoming calls and route them to the appropriate destination.

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Demonstrates a service excellence attitude and acts quickly to diffuse any concerns and ensures customer
satisfaction.
2. Communicates effectively with customers, visitors and staff through managing on-call schedules, overhead
pages, and answering calls in a timely manner.
3. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to maintain privacy and security of Privileged Health Information (PHI).
4. Forwards calls to correct recipients and contacts.
5. Demonstrates proper use of equipment including : radio, beepers, telephone system, TDD phone.
6. Exhibits thorough knowledge of codes and alarm systems and is able to execute the procedure for responding
to each.
7. Demonstrates knowledge and / or proper operation and safety measures in the use of equipment and alarms
with ability to recognize and initiate corrective actions for abnormalities.
8. Communicates with Security and identifies and reports potential security risks for campus and individuals.
9. Keeps constant communication with Registration and informs them of any potential issues.
10. Completes reports as needed and requested by Supervisor / Director.
