This position coordinates nutrition programs based on Policies and Procedures set by ND Department of Human Services, Aging Services Division, and the Department of Transportation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:
Effectively supervises assigned employees, including the following:
Staff Leadership:
- Interviews, selects, and trains employees
- Coaches employees in proper job performance techniques and procedures
- Directs work of employees and sets/adjusts hours of work
- Maintains records on employee productivity and appraises employee’s performance to recommend promotions or other changes in status
- Handles employee complaints and assist in disciplining as needed
- Apportions work among different employees
- Provides for the safety of employees and the property of the Fargo Park District.
- Reviews employees time sheets
- Provide meal site staff with HDM route sheets and information needed for delivery.
Meal Service:
- Reviews menus
- Order and/or review food order based upon monthly menus and knowledge of meal service participation
- Coordinates Home delivered Meals volunteer assignments and meal delivery
- Prepares reports including rosters and meal counts
- Approve invoices for food and other purchases
- Counts daily program income and makes deposits
Transit:
- Schedules rides for public ride service of seniors
- Reviews monthly vehicle reports
- Oversee maintenance of transit vehicles
- Counts daily program income and makes deposits
General Office:
- Provides radical customer service in person and through phone calls
- Type and distribute monthly menus, activity calendars and newsletters
- Update community boards, posters, TV for monthly functions
- Assist with marketing and appreciation functions
- Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
- Maintain office infrastructure: copier and individual printers, etc
- Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Evaluation of this position may also be based on performance of the following other functions, which include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating frozen meals on wheels delivery
- Assisting cook with kitchen duties
- Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and notify Nutrition Manager of any equipment needs.
- Recording annual Fund Drive information and deposits donations
- Distribution of Home Delivered Meal donation notices.
- Work closely with the County Councils on Aging and prepare mill levy reports.
- Grant writing.
- Attend meetings with county officials and agencies that provide services to elderly.
- Updating and enhancing knowledge by involvement in continuing education for professional growth by in-service trainings and certification programs.
- Performing related duties as assigned or apparent.
Experience and Skills:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Administration experience and/or experience in meal preparation/food service preferred.
- Previous experience working with older adults and multi-tasking office work experience is preferred.
CREDENTIALS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
