Job Description:
The Senior Solar and Energy Storage Project Engineer will lead the design and development of solar PV and battery energy storage systems for residential and commercial clients. This role requires a strong background in designing solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems, engineering, utility interconnection requirements, and proficiency with industry-standard solar design tools.
- System Design: Develop comprehensive designs for solar PV and energy storage systems ensuring compliance with local, national, and international codes and standards.
- Software Utilization: Use industry-leading tools to design and simulate solar PV and storage systems, ensuring maximum efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with sales teams, project managers, installation teams, and other stakeholders to deliver well-designed, install-ready solutions.
- Technical Analysis: Perform detailed system analyses including energy yield simulations, shading analysis, and storage system optimization.
- Electrical Engineering: Assist in the development of single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics while ensuring compatibility with inverters, batteries, and other system components.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs meet permitting, interconnection, and safety standards, including NEC, UL, IEEE, and other applicable codes.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare design documents, engineering reports, and technical specifications to utilities, municipal permitting authorities, and other project stakeholders.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Continuous Learning & Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in solar PV, battery storage technology, microgrids, and design methodologies.
