Position Overview:
As a Service and Installation Specialist at Valley Solar, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of both our service and production departments. This technical position involves overseeing system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and ensuring that installations meet the highest standards of performance and quality. You will collaborate with designers, production teams, and clients to ensure that every system is installed and maintained to optimal specifications. Primary Responsibilities:
Service Coordination:
- Utilize your technical expertise to manage and resolve service cases in the company’s CRM, ensuring accurate tracking and detailed records of each issue.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and system-related issues remotely, working with clients to resolve technical problems and improve system performance.
- Collaborate with the service and production team to identify common issues and develop solutions to streamline service operations, reduce downtime and prevent go-backs.
Post-Production Quality Assurance:
- Perform post-installation system audits to ensure installations meet engineering specifications, including verifying layout, wiring, and system production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any post-installation issues remotely, working with the operations and production teams to address concerns and improve workmanship.
Production Support:
- Assist with the planning and documentation of electrical systems during project planning stages, ensuring technical specifications are met.
- Coordinate material ordering and ensure electrical components meet required standards for installation.
- Address and resolve any last-minute technical changes or requests to keep projects on schedule.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Inventory & Warehouse Management:
- Maintain accurate and efficient tracking of electrical components, tools, and equipment in the warehouse.
- Support the development and implementation of inventory systems, ensuring proper organization and timely restocking of materials required for electrical installations and service.
Fleet and Equipment Management:
- Oversee the scheduling, maintenance, and technical readiness of company vehicles and specialized equipment used in the field.
- Work with the production team to ensure all equipment is maintained in optimal condition to meet safety and operational standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electrical systems, business or a related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in a technical support, electrical design, or service coordination role, ideally within renewable energy, electrical systems, or construction industries.
- Familiarity with solar technology, energy storage systems, or other energy-related technologies is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting techniques.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) for case tracking and project management.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical system issues remotely using technical knowledge and tools.
- Familiarity with energy analysis, system design, and reading plans is a plus.
Communication & Customer Service:
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to relay complex technical information clearly to both clients and internal teams.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and customers to address issues and ensure satisfaction.
- Proactive in identifying technical improvements and contributing to process optimization.
Organizational Skills:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, technical environment.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate technical documentation and efficient tracking of inventory, project milestones, and service requests.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical challenges.
