Job Summary:
Valley Steel Recycling is seeking two skilled Maintenance Technicians to join our team. These technicians will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our shredder and downstream equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. The ideal candidates are safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and experienced in heavy industrial machinery maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on shredder and downstream systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Monitor equipment performance to identify potential problems and mitigate downtime.
- Perform emergency repairs efficiently to minimize production delays.
- Inspect and replace parts, components, and tools as necessary.
- Collaborate with supervisors, operators, and other crew members to coordinate maintenance tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Document maintenance activities and maintain records of repairs and inspections.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5 years of industrial maintenance experience (preferably in recycling, manufacturing, or heavy equipment operations).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working at heights as needed.
- Comfortable with prolonged periods of standing, bending, and operating tools.
Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work both day and evening shifts, with overtime or weekend work as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Every weekend
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
