What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHS Specialist Night Shift position at Valley T Company?
Summary/ Objective:
Assist EHS Management with daily plant operations in the areas of Health, Safety, Environmental and Security.
Essential Functions (but are not limited to):
- Ensures safety of self and others by following all Safety Policies/Procedures and wearing all required PPE
- Responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operation of safety programs in a manufacturing environment.
- Conduct hazard prevention analysis and implement risk control countermeasures.
- Reinforce safe work practices with Team Members.
- Develop communication systems with department managers for day-to-day EHS activities.
- Work with manufacturing leaders and Process Engineering to resolve safety issues in all areas.
- Participate in safety incident investigations and root cause analysis; facilitate the completion of reports; analyze incident trends; implementation of corrective actions; assure lessons learned are shared and preventive actions are closed and documented.
- Lead workplace EHS, security and culture strategies and actions.
- Develop and drive activities with focus on key business metrics such as injury avoidance, regulatory compliance and countermeasures.
- Establish and support team member involvement activities in EHS.
- Develop EHS related policy and lead consistent administration of company policy and procedures.
- Conduct effective and appropriate EHS training and assure compliance with regulatory training requirements.
- Regular attendance is required.

Must be flexible to work in all areas and in your department regardless of duties listed above in order to accomplish Company Goals and objectives.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
- BS degree in Industrial Safety or related field or equivalent experience is required.
- 2 or plus years industrial or manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of US environmental, health and safety regulations is required.
- Requires independent judgment on problems, identifying alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendation in support of goals.
- Organizational and project management practices as applied to the analysis, implementation and evaluation of programs, policies, and operational needs is required.
- Able to create and modify document in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Utilize leadership styles to maximize section resources.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Preferred Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
- CSP Certification
- Ecoat, Metal Stamping or Welding Experience
- Ergonomics, Fire Science, Industrial Hygiene experience
Environment:
- Work is conducted in an industrial office/ plant setting.
- Frequent movement throughout an industrial plant environment being exposed to high noise levels and equipment normally used in stamping / welding/ Ecoat environments.
- Frequent use of stairs, ladders, bending, lifting, reaching, squatting to perform equipment or facility inspection.
Physical Demands:
- Able to lift up to 33 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer are possible.
- Extended period of standing on the plant floor.
- Able to traverse the plant facility.
