The Welding Group Leader is responsible for overseeing team activities to ensure smooth, efficient manufacturing operations while fostering a collaborative team environment and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe work environment by following all safety policies, procedures, and required PPE guidelines.
  • Train and develop employees when transitioning to new roles to maintain high performance standards.
  • Oversee quality control procedures, ensuring team members understand and meet all quality expectations.
  • Manage employee attendance, time tracking, and coaching to improve retention and reduce turnover.
  • Assist employees in resolving work-related challenges, escalating issues to management or HR as needed.
  • Monitor production schedules to ensure timely manufacturing and delivery of products.
  • Plan and oversee manufacturing operations, setting priorities and addressing any production, maintenance, or operational issues to minimize costs and prevent delays.
  • Report equipment or personnel concerns to the appropriate leadership team.
  • Assign tasks based on employees’ skill sets to maximize efficiency.
  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives to meet yearly improvement goals.
  • Maintain high standards for quality, productivity, housekeeping, and safety by proactively monitoring and adjusting processes.
  • Regular attendance and schedule flexibility for rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support overall department goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum five years of production experience or equivalent customer service experience.
  • At least two years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Plex experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions accurately.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Industrial plant setting with frequent exposure to stamping, welding, and E-coat processes.
  • Requires standing and walking throughout the facility.
  • Must be able to lift up to 33 pounds.
  • Extended periods of computer use may be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $1.00 per hour
