SUMMARY
The Student Recovery Representative will be responsible for collections of outstanding accounts not serviced by third parties following Valley College?s policies and procedures in a professional and ethical manner. This onsite position requires confidentiality and to follow proper protocols for protecting sensitive personally identifiable information (PII).
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- The Accounts Recovery Representative is responsible for account resolution.
- Research student payment history and determine if any special payment agreements exist.
- Review delinquent account and contact students to collect on overdue amounts.
- Mail correspondence for past due accounts and collections
- Perform weekly followups to clear on-account payments.
- Issue collection letters and escalate accounts as needed.
- Understand priorities and organize workflow as needed.
- Verify discrepancies and resolve student concerns.
- Carry out billing, collection, and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
- Monitor student account details for nonpayments, delayed payment, and other irregularities.
- Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience Needed:
- Bachelor's (Preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Be able to stay calm under pressure and work to strict deadlines.
- Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)
- Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
- Collections: 1 year (Preferred)
Requirements: Valley College may require a criminal background check and credit report. Deviation from these requirements must be reviewed and approved by the President of Valley College.
Supervisory Controls: Incumbent will work under the supervision of the Director of Student Finance.
