What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinarian Recruitment Director position at Valley Veterinary Care?
We are looking for a Recruiting Director with full-cycle recruiting experience, from talent sourcing and attracting candidates to interviewing and hiring great employees. This role will mostly focus on Veterinarian Recruitment.
Process
Collaborate with Vice President on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs. Use resources such as social media networks and employee referrals. Works with the VP Recruiting to close candidates and bring them into the VVC family.
Ultimately, the responsibilities of the Recruiter are to ensure our company attracts, hires and retains the best Veterinarians, while growing a strong talent pipeline.
Responsibilities
• Co-Design and implement overall recruiting strategy
• Source Veterinarians
• Travel to various VVC locations to meet and interact with potential veterinary hire candidates
• Screen candidates resumes and job applications
• Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates within schedule
• Advise on employees in order to become fully integrated
• Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports to the VP Recruiting.
• Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
• Promote company’s reputation as the “best place to work”
• Interact with various Veterinary schools around to country to hire and interact with Student representatives, coordinate events such as CE, tailgates and diners with 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students.
• Work with the rest of the recruiting team to set up off site recruiting meetings for select candidates
• Work closely with the VP Recruiting to implement and execute on successful meetings for employee DVMs, integrating recruiting as additional add in legs for the meetings.
Travel requirements
Travel to VVC markets, as well as trade shows and other opportunities as they arise will be required. No more that 10 days per month will be required.
The Recruiting Manager will also be able to participate in VVC events such as the yearly DVM meeting in places such as Vail (2021), Cabo San Lucas (2022) and Cancun (2023). Other events such as outdoor team building events and spa days.
