What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Attendant position at Valley Veterinary Hospital?
Responsibilities
Pet Care Attendants provide care for the dogs and cats through interaction and maintaining a healthy, safe and clean environment for the animals while under the direction of the hospital manager, doctors, and technical team
Qualifications
Ability to clean dog runs/cages and cat cages
Ability to feed pets in the kennel
Ability to maintain the overall cleanliness of the hospital
- Ability to aid the technician and Doctors with patients ( dogs/cats) as needed, e.g. restraint for blood drawing/ exams, etc
Ability to read and interpret documents efficiently, as well as an ability to communicate effectively with customers and fellow employees in both written and verbal formats
Basic mathematical skills
- Availability to work Holidays and every other weekend
Ability to stand and walk for the entirety of shift, as well as bend and kneel regularly
Ability to push/pull 50 lbs regularly (by walking strong dogs)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $12.00 per hour
