Valley View Manor is looking for a Director of Nursing to join our team! The DON will be responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and overall nursing operations of their healthcare facility
Responsibilities Include:
- Supervising all nursing staff
- Overseeing department budgets
- Reporting to higher management in the healthcare facilities
- Maintaining high standards of care for all patients
- Managing patients’ data and medical records as confidential records
- Communicating with doctors, patients and family members about patient health
- Recruiting, training and onboarding new nursing staff
- Providing ongoing education classes
- Supporting a strong sense of team among clinical staff and with all departments in the organization while supporting resident-centered care.
- Implementing new procedures and training Nurses on policies
Qualifications Include:
- Current RN license in State of Minnesota
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a supervisory role in health care
- Experience in a Long Term Care facility
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures
- Solid understanding of nursing home regulations.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex medical terminology and situations to residents and families.
- Experience planning, organizing, developing, and evaluating programs, goals, and objectives necessary for providing quality care.
- Willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
- Strong leadership skills with experience leading a diverse team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people at all levels of an organization, residents, and family members.
