What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medication Aide (Weekend Part time) position at Valley View Recovery Center?
**Shift: Part time position, weekend or every other weekend evening shift 2:00pm-10:00pm - *WILL TRAIN*
Summary:
Valley View Recovery Center is looking for a Medication Aide for our 51-bed, high-intensity, residential substance abuse treatment program for adult men.
Our nursing staff are active members of an integrated treatment team across all programs and services within the organization. They collaborate with clients to understand their goals and needs in order to tailor individualized plans that are preventative and restorative in nature.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Actively engaging with clients, developing positive relationships that support the client in meeting their goals
- Providing information and/or referrals to resources in the community for increased support and stabilization
- Medication management, administration, and reviewing medication log daily
- Track all medications that are administered, keeping accurate records of dosage times and amounts
- Document patient information in the logbook using appropriate forms and in a timely manner
- Provide support to the rest of the nursing department, including, medication refills and scheduling of virtual care appointments
- Address client questions and/or concerns as needed
- Documenting observable behaviors and symptoms
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of client needs to make appropriate community and in-house referrals
- Complete documentation as appropriate regarding authorizations, client needs, family needs and agency requests. Document all contacts, incidents, and progress while client is in program
- Maintain ongoing, current, and required training for best practice service delivery
- Work collaboratively with all other organizational services and team members
- Responsible for obtaining and/or maintaining proper licensure and/or certification according to specific state requirements
- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills working with colleagues who thrive in a multi-cultural setting
- Maintain strict and confidential guidelines regarding current and former clients, their families, and referents in accordance with federal and state laws
- Demonstrated ability and emotional intelligence to work in an unpredictable, crisis response, and team-oriented setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-directed and ability to work independently
- Familiarity with Procentive software a plus
