JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Housekeeping Aide- 1st Shift

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director Facilities Management or Designee

DEFINITION: Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities Management, is responsible for providing a sanitary, comfortable, and safe environment for the residents in the facility. Is also responsible, through good housekeeping practices, to help prevent the development and spread of infection.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Satisfactory personal and employment references.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine housekeeping services which include the cleaning of furniture, equipment, floors, walls, windows, toilets, mirrors, sinks, etc., and the emptying of waste baskets and other trash receptacles.
• Work in laundry department as assigned.
• Report broken equipment or safety concerns/hazards to director.
• Assist in keeping residents’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Perform project cleaning as requested. This may include windows, grounds, wheelchairs, stripping and waxing of floors, etc.
• Maintaining good relationships with residents, visitors, and other staff.
• Provide for safety of residents and other staff.
• Attend in-service programs as requested.
• Work hours as assigned.
• Be prompt, courteous, and helpful at all times.
• Other related duties as assigned.
