What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rural Family Medicine Physician position at Valley-Wide Health System?

The ideal candidate will be positive-minded with a passion for serving those in the rural communities we serve. While working closely with a diverse patient population, the Family Physician will build strong relationships within the community, delivering personalized medical care in an integrated healthcare environment. The Family Physician will play a crucial role in providing primary healthcare services to those in underserved area, across the lifespan from pediatric to geriatric.
Job Responsibilities :
- Perform physical examinations, record and document physical findings within the EMR System (NextGen), and review data along with health history to formulate a definitive diagnosis based on the patients condition.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients clinical problems and healthcare needs
- Prescribe pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies. Review and evaluate treatments to determine success
- Collaborate with an integrated healthcare team to determine a comprehensive patient healthcare plan
- Refers patient to other healthcare practitioners for consultations or specialized health resources for treatment as appropriate
- Educate on treatment or healthcare needs to patient and patients family
- Assist in the oversight of support personnel with clinical guidance
- Performs other duties assigned by the employer from time to time that are commensurate with professional services, normally and customarily, performed by a physician.

Must be board-certified / eligible MD / DO with experience working in a clinical setting
Current unencumbered State of Colorado Licensure
Current unrestricted DEA License
Complete a background check and drug testing
Bilingual skills (English / Spanish) desirable but not required
