The APP position is integral to our practice and requires working closely with patients, physicians and other staff.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The APP will act as an integral part of the treatment team by collaborating with Physicians to establish Fertility treatment plans for families in need of reproductive services.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills when caring for infertility patients
- Obtain and document patients’ medical histories and perform appropriate physical examinations
- Perform infertility-related procedures including transvaginal ultrasounds, saline sonograms, hysterosalpingograms, inseminations, hysteroscopies, new patient consultations, follow up visits, and other exams/surgical procedures as needed.
- Educate patients and their families on infertility treatments, reproductive endocrine disorders, and medications
- Early morning and weekend call and after hours call flexibility may be expected
- Collaborate with physicians and other team members in the clinic, to ensure effective patient communication, quality care, and best outcomes are achieved
- Follows best practices when reviewing patient medical records, to ensure appropriate diagnostic testing is ordered
- Creates effective working relationships and lines of communication with support staff, patients, and their families
- Acts appropriately in emergency situations by following established clinic protocols, helping staff and patients to remain calm, communicating effectively, and properly documenting all such events
- Demonstrates knowledge in and abides by all legal issues, including HIPPA privacy rules and risk management procedures when dealing with patients
Qualifications:
- REI experience in the role of a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is preferred, but other candidates will be considered as well
- Active, unrestricted Utah Medical License (PA)
