What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sourcing and Procurement Lead position at Valley Woodcraft and Lumber?
We are currently searching for an experienced Sourcing and Procurement Lead for our manufacturing operations in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This senior-level position, reporting directly to the company president will manage several aspects of our supply chain, from purchasing and maintaining inventory of both direct and indirect materials to sourcing shipping and transportation services for products. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and proactive in working and maintaining positive relations with raw material suppliers and vendors. Proficiency with EPR/MRP system functions is critical. You will have experience managing the purchasing of components against government specifications, evaluating between suppliers based on cost and lead times, and evaluating whether components will need to be reordered based on shelf life times and expected production dates.
Experience with government or defense contract manufacturing and inventory management is a plus, as is APICS certification.
