This position is accountable for receiving and directing information pertaining to the referral or consultation of neonatal and pediatric patients in a fast-paced, dynamic environment under specific time constraints to facilitate patient throughput through Valley Children's Healthcare. The Access Center is the referral source for all interfacility referrals for inpatient care, telemedicine, specialty consults, ED transfers, critical care and trauma transport to and from Valley Children's Healthcare. The incumbent is responsible for dispatching transport teams, ambulances, and flight crews for critical care transport, and coordinating all non patient care activities in the Access Center. Responsibilities include handling multiple phone lines in a high volume call center, accurate computer data entry that includes patient registration into the electronic health record, transport and flight metrics, and assisting with other hospital processes/duties as assigned.
