Lifeguard Role at Valleyfair: Ensuring Aquatic Safety
As a Lifeguard at Valleyfair, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety of our guests in swimming areas. This position involves enforcing safety rules, responding to emergencies, and conducting regular safety checks to prevent accidents.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise swimming areas and enforce safety protocols.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary.
- Conduct regular inspections and safety checks to identify potential hazards.
- Maintain the cleanliness of pool areas and equipment to prevent the spread of germs and ensure a safe environment for guests.
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to stay up-to-date with the latest safety procedures and techniques.
Qualifications:
- Current lifeguard certification (training provided)
- CPR and First Aid certification (training provided)
- Ability to pass a Lifeguard course taught in English
- Strong physical stamina and excellent swimming skills
- Capability to tread water for at least 2 minutes
- Ability to swim up to 200 yards
- Excellent vision, including 20/20 vision or corrective vision to 20/20
- Willingness to get wet and stay wet throughout the day, regardless of weather conditions
- Ability to sit, stand, or move freely for hours without a break
- Preparedness to be test/rescue ready at all times during shift
- Successful completion of all internal VAT audits
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
