What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gauge Lab Technician position at Vallourec North America?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Calibrates gages, inspects hand tools, adjusts gage intervals in accordance with API specifications. Creates traceability records which tie back to NIST.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working safely.
- Maintenance and calibration of gauges.
- Maintaining a drift inventory.
- Receiving inspections of critical parts.
- Auditing production lines.
- Documenting calibrations and repair of gauges.
- Housekeeping of the gauge room.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Must have a thorough understanding of API specifications related to tubular goods.
- Experience or training in the care and maintenance of measuring and test equipment.
- Must be proficient in API Thread Gauging.
- Must have good communication skills and be capable of maintaining historical records of gauge certifications and repairs.
