Duties include but are not limited to:

Ownership

  • The Safety and Morale of the Assigned Workforce and Others while in the Pipe Yard
  • The Safe and Professional Appearance and Condition of the Pipe Yard & Equipment
  • The Accuracy and Security of the Inventory and Associated Documentation / Systems
  • Business Results / Performance
    • Lead the Logistics System / Team to Optimize:
      • Safe Traffic Patterns and Time-on-Site
      • Guarantee First Time Right Quality for the Customer
      • The Safety of the General Public
      • Budget Compliance
  • Teamwork / Collaboration
    • Work Closely with the NA Logistics Team to Develop Routines and Solutions
    • Two Way Communication with the Workforce to Deliver Information and to Listen to Concerns / Ideas
    • Assist Freight Carriers to Comply with Vallourec Standards
    • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service to the Production Departments
    • Support the Logistics Manager with Assignments

  • Document quantity, quality, type, weight, test result data, and value of materials or products, to maintain shipping, receiving, and production records and files.
  • Count or estimate quantities of materials, parts, or products received or shipped.
  • Collect or prepare measurement, weight, or identification labels; and attach them to products.
  • Weigh or measure materials, equipment, or products to maintain relevant records.
  • Compare product labels, tags or tickets, shipping manifests, purchase orders and bills of lading to verify accuracy of shipment contents, quality specifications, and /or weights.
  • Examine products or materials, parts, subassemblies, and packaging for damage, defects, or shortages, using specification sheets, gauges, and standards charts.
  • Collect product samples and prepare them for laboratory analysis or testing.
  • Communicate with customers and vendors to exchange information regarding products, materials, and services.
  • Signal or instruct other workers to weigh, move, or check products.
  • Remove from stock products or loads not meeting quality standards and notify supervisors or appropriate departments of discrepancies or shortages.
  • Sort products or materials into predetermined sequences or groupings for display, packing, shipping, or storage. 
  • Fill orders for products and samples, following order tickets, and forward or mail items.
  • Must follow all company policies, practices, and regulations to include Safety and Quality.
  • Any other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in related field or a similar business concentration
  • Minimum of five years' experience in inventory control and shipping & receiving functions
  • Minimum two years' supervisory experience in a related field
  • Ability to read, write and speak well in English, Spanish and French a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably SAP
  • Possess strong analytical, interpersonal supervisory skills
  • Ability to understand and execute instructions through strong organizational skills
  • Must possess valid driver's License
  • Must be able to operate all yard equipment
